Design Systems

Design Systems

I came into the team with the Figma library being bare bones and outdated. I took the initiative to revamp the entire Figma, as well as come up with a system on what to do with components that are in progress / in experiment mode.

Most recently, I was the design lead for a new page within Two Dots called Mini Games Hub.

I noticed that a lot of the components before I joined, were missing red lines, which I know are helpful for engineers, so I went ahead and also added them to those that were missing.

Key screens

Key screens

Prior to me joining, the team had no way of seeing all our up to date formats in one place. Screenshots would often get outdated quickly as our team moved at a fast pace.

I came up with the idea to use components and create "key screens" so that as we update components the format designs would update accordingly. This saved the team a lot of time and questions.

Post-click experience

I joined the post click team as the lead UX designer and was able to lead the UX of a 0-1 product launch of an in app browser within YouTube Ads.

My main responsibilities were helping the team bring an in app browser on mobile iOS through design reviews and also ensuring that the designs were consistent with the rest of YouTube, while still maintaining business goals of increasing CTR

User Testing

I mainly used two different methods for user testing. To gain qualitative data, I facilitated a group of users though a series of different questions about the game.

To gain quantitative data, I spearheaded an effort to use a platform called Useberry in order to gain quick insights from users in a cost and time efficient manor.

I was tasked with coming up with ways to nudge a user after enough interest in an Ad is shown. To do this I first started with mapping the project to the team's existing principles and also creating a framework. This was fundamental is creating a foundation that was user first focused.

I was able to adapt and learn motion as a new project needed motion help. I researched existing motion behaviors across Google/Youtube as well as reach out to motion designers on the team for feedback.

App Icons

App Icons

I learned more about the process of designing a successful app icon. I became the sole owner of this task, taking on the responsibility of not only designing (color and composition) the app icon, but also uploading it to Unity and Github (which were two platforms I was able to quickly learn within a month).
